Jim Reid all-in

But his opponent holds exactly the same hand, K7, and they split the pot.

He's down about 10,000 since we started and has a little over 50,000 chips.

Not sure of the name at this point but he can swear very well in at least two languages.

Skalie picks up a pot

At the expense of Surinder, he calls Surinder's raise preflop to which was about 9,000, a quarter of Surinder's chips. The flop comes down 268. Surinder checks and John 'Skalie' Kalmar bets 15,000. Surinder gives up pretty quickly, flipping over A,Q. Skalie shows red 7s.

An argument erupts

Well, maybe not quite an argument. The dealer collects the antes from Andy Black's table and they turn up short one player's ante. The blinds are 1000/2000 with a 200 ante at the moment.

One player believes Andy missed putting his ante in but the dealer doesn't know who it was. Andy cannot confirm he DID put in his ante but has no reason to believe it was him who forgot. He is very happy to put in the 200 if any other player can confirm that it was he who had forgotten.

No-one can, and Andy calls over Thomas Kremser for a ruling, explaining the situation. He offers to put in 100, half the ante, and another player offers to match it to make up the full amount. Andy is having none of it! He doesn't want another player penalised for what may have been his mistake, he just wants whether it was his mistake or not clarified. Thomas doesn't seem too eager to get involved, it seems an impossible situation to rule on and of course 100 chips is neither here nor there when the average stack is over 60,000. Andy pays the 100 and no-one is put out.

Answers on a postcard, or on the Mob Forum, as to what should be done if the situation crops up again. There are no cameras in the Merrion basement.
